Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit
In all seriousness, "Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit" may be one of the best movies of the year. Granted, this year hasn't been much for movies, but this one is laugh-out-loud funny at all age levels.
It's only days until the Giant Vegetable Competition in the hometown of Wallace and his trusty sidekick dog Gromit. This creates a boom in their pest control business, Anti-Pesto. It seems the rabbits are trying to eat all the vegetables that the locals have been pruning and preening over for months. The townsfolk put their trust in our two home grown heroes. More importantly, Lady Tottington displays quite a bit of affection toward Wallace.
Along the way, Wallace, who is technically savvy, develops a way to alter the rabbits' unquenchable desire for vegetables by sending out opposing brainwaves. At least he thinks it works. Little does he realize that his science experiment is about to go terribly awry. Good thing we have Gromit to figure things out.
"Wallace and Gromit" are not mere animation, but rather Claymation like you've never seen. The technical wizardry here is amazing. Equally important is a quick and clever script which keeps the attention of every viewer from 3 to 73. Puns and jokes abound, some clearly over the heads of the younger ones in the audience, making them even more clever for the adults. This is good, clean fun not seen since "Finding Nemo" or "Shrek". I give it an A+.
"Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit" is rated G with a running time of 85 minutes.
