Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

"Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" might just be one of the most astute political movies of the year. Sadly, it's not nearly as funny as the first movie.

Picking up exactly where the original left off, the boys (John Cho and Kal Penn) are geared up to head to Amsterdam to find Harold's new love, and to score some legal marijuana. After a misunderstanding between bong and bomb, they are sent directly to Gitmo, from which they escape within the first two hours of being there.

The majority of the movie follows their exploits on getting from Miami to Texas in an effort to clear their names. There are some laugh-out-loud moments, and more political references than you would expect. In the end though, it's really just gross-out humor and nothing new. Stick with the White Castle original. I give it a C+.

"Harold & Kumar" is rated R with a running time of 102 minutes.
